The spiritual welfare and direction of SBC rests with our Elder/Deacon Team supported by a wider team including our Worship Group Leader; Pastoral Care Team and other Group Co-ordinators.  

Nigel Simpson - Elder; Designated Person for Safeguarding; Pastoral Care team.

 Nigel has been a member of SBC since  October 2019 and has been in a leadership position since 2021.  He is married with two children and he works at County Hall.  To email Nigel Click here



Bob Sparke - Elder; Acting Treasurer; Graveyard Superintendent; Youth Co-ordinator

BobBob has been a member of SBC since June 1990; he is married to Alex who also attends SBC.  Now retired Bob is currently supporting Smile Charity Uganda with three visits to work on projects and also raising money by selling second hand books, helping with Graveyard upkeep and more than one sponsored coastal path walk.  To email Bob Click here  


Donia Ceato - Elder; Safeguarding Trustee; Church Admin

DoniaDonia has been a member of SBC since January 1998 and has been in various leadership positions over the years.  She is married to Hugh, who also attends SBC, and is retired.  Donia is enjoying using her admin skills to serve the church and in her spare time likes to read, make greetings cards and bake cakes (often for church consumption!)  To email Donia Click here


Hugh Ceato - Deacon; Church Fabric and Maintenance

 Hugh became a member of SBC in January 1998 and has been a Deacon for a number of years, responsible for the Caretaking of the Chapel.  He met his wife Donia, who also attends SBC, whilst  working at Avon Rubber; they have been married for over 45 years and are now busy being retired.  Hugh enjoys working in the garden in the summer, and following up on family history in the winter.  To email Hugh Click here  


Mark Padfield - Worship Group Leader

Mark Mark has been a member of SBC for many years  coming along to the church as a teenager. He is married with two children and is a very gifted Worship leader and Musician.  Mark is joined by another musician and two singers to lead worship each Sunday morning.



Georgie Beaumont - Designated Person for Safeguarding; Pastoral Care Team

Georgie

 Georgie transferred to SBC after moving up from Minehead in 2001.  Serving as Deacon for six years she has now just completed her second and final term as Elder.  Married to David for 50 years they both served in the military, totalling 33 years.  Georgie has a daughter, Sonja married to Darren, and three amazing granddaughters.  To email Georgie Click here


Cathy Padfield - Youth Co-ordinator; No Limits volunteer                                  

Cathy

 Cathy has been a member of SBC for many years, meeting her husband here and bringing up their two children.  Cathy has over the years been very involved in holidays for disabled young people, and is currently supporting Smile Charity Uganda, with three visits to do project work and various fund-raising activities including helping with the upkeep of the Graveyard and more than one sponsored coastal path walk.  To email Cathy Click here  


Jacky Newman - No Limits Co-Ordinator; Lettings Officer

Jacky Jacky has been a member at SBC since September 1974 and over the years has held many different roles within the church.  25 years ago Jacky felt led to start No Limits,  a church group for folk with additional needs. The group meet three times each month, twice for social activities, and once for worship and sharing.  To email Jacky Click here
